Tanika Montgomery, PsyD Candidate

Founder & Clinical Director, Crowned Therapy

Tanika Montgomery is a dedicated mental health clinician, PsyD candidate at Walden University (anticipated completion January 2028), and Founder of Crowned Therapy. With a passion for serving individuals, couples, and families, Tanika has spent years supporting the Semmes community through compassionate, culturally responsive care.

Her therapeutic approach is integrative and client-centered, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, strengths-based practice, and psychodynamic principles. Tanika believes healing begins with safety, authenticity, and empowerment. She works collaboratively with clients to identify patterns, challenge limiting beliefs, process trauma, and develop practical tools for lasting change.

As an African American clinician, Tanika is deeply committed to culturally competent care and understands the importance of honoring identity, lived experience, and systemic influences within the therapeutic process. She creates a nonjudgmental space where clients feel seen, heard, and valued.

Through Crowned Therapy, Tanika is committed to breaking stigma, expanding access to mental health services, and promoting emotional wellness across diverse communities. Her work is rooted in the belief that every individual deserves to feel whole, worthy, and crowned in their healing journey.
